Materials

Almost everything that fails in a kitchen fails at the material.

Not at the design. So we write the board grade and the hardware brand on every quotation — and you should ask everybody else quoting you to do exactly the same. That one question tells you more about a price than the price does.

Boards

BWP marine ply — IS 710: Boiling-water proof. Kitchen carcasses, bathroom units, anywhere that gets wet. The grade that decides whether a kitchen survives ten monsoons or two.
BWR / MR ply — IS 303: Boiling-water resistant. Wardrobes, TV units and bedroom furniture in dry rooms. Cheaper, and entirely correct where there is no water.
HDHMR: High-density high-moisture resistant. A denser, flatter face than ply, used where the finish would show every grain — acrylic and lacquer work.
MDF: Membrane press and lacquered doors, where a shaped profile is wanted. Never in a wet area.
WPC: Wood-plastic composite. Bathroom doors and frames — it does not swell, rot or take on water at all.
Solid wood: Main doors and frames. Sheesham and teak where the budget allows, seasoned properly before it is cut.

Hardware

This is where the money in a kitchen actually goes, and where the difference between a cheap quote and a fair one usually hides.

Hinges: Soft-close, from Hettich, Häfele or Ebco. Named on the quotation, because a hinge is the part that fails first and the part nobody looks at.
Drawer channels: Telescopic and tandem, soft-close. The difference between a drawer that still runs in year five and one that scrapes by year two.
Lift-ups and flaps: Hydraulic, for overhead units — so a wall cabinet does not swing down onto somebody's head.
Corner solutions: Magic corners and carousels, so the corner of an L-shaped kitchen is storage rather than a dead void.
Handles and profiles: Handle-less profiles, edge pulls and conventional handles. Shown as samples before you choose.

Edge banding

Machine-pressed PVC or ABS on every exposed edge, including the ones you cannot see once the unit is fitted. An unbanded edge in a kitchen draws water in and swells within two monsoons — it is the most common reason a two-year-old kitchen looks ten.

Finishes

1 mm laminate, acrylic, PU, natural veneer and membrane press — shown to you as physical samples in the shop, never as a picture on a screen. Colour on a phone is not colour in your kitchen.

Ask any other shop in Siwan to name the board grade and the hardware brand on their quotation.
